Testimonials:

“In the year 2000 I had lower back pain.  I went to family doctor and she sent me for x-rays and found arthritis in my lower back.  She sent me for physical therapy.  That did not help.  She sent me for an MRI and found out that I had Degenerative Disc Disease.  She sent me to a pain center.  I have been going to the pain center for five years.  They did a procedure called facet injections.  I had a series of three.  No effect.  Then they tried another procedure called Radiofrequency Nerve Ablation.  I had a series of three.  That also had no effect.  A friend of mine sent me information on Dr. Gary Hatlen, who uses a technique called Cold Laser Therapy.  I called and made an appointment with Dr. Hatlen.  He took time with me and my husband and explained the procedure to us.  We were very impressed.  Dr. Hatlen was very honest with us when he told us that after three treatments if I get no relief then the procedure is not for me.  After two treatments I felt relief.  Dr. Hatlen suggested either two or three treatments a week.  I chose two a week.  I am 65 to 70% better.  I am improving with each treatment!!  I feel very comfortable with Dr. Hatlen.  Prior to my treatment with the Cold Laser Therapy things were not looking very good for my back.  Severe pain that some times lasted 24 hours a day.  On a scale of 1 to 10 my pain level was a 9.  Now with my treatment I am currently a 5 or 6.  What a great relief!  I thank Dr. Hatlen for helping me.”

"For several years I have had trouble with my right foot from what is called a Neuroma.  This has been very uncomfortable and I could only wear certain shoes.  There is a problem with a nerve and a doctor at Mayo Clinic said I would need surgery to correct it.  The surgery is only 70% succesful.  I asked Dr. Hatlen if he would try the cold laser on it to see if it would help.  Well, my foot is 95% better!!!!!  I am thrilled, to say the least - no surgery for me."

"In a short time, Cold Laser Therapy has given me a gift of relief from pain associated with severe arthritis in my hand, sustained in a childhood accident.  My chronic lower back pain from years of running has also been relieved and is improving with every treatment. Very impressive!  Thank you, Dr. Hatlen!

"I was a mess.  I was in a serious car accident in 2001.  I was in constant pain for 5 years.  I've tried everything, which included strong medicine, epidurals, physical therapy, etc... for pain, but nothing worked.  Then I tried Cold Laser Therapy and Chiropractic care with Dr. Hatlen.  Within 2 months my range of motion has improved dramatically.  May pain level has gone from 100% constant pain to 50%.  I was very depressed with no energy.  I have more energy now and my days are getting brighter.  Thank You Dr. Hatlen"

Professor Mike Hamblin from Wellman Centre for Photomedicine at Harvard Medical School explains laser therapy in the video below.

Cold laser therapy is defined by the North American Association of Laser Therapy (NAALT) as “a therapeutic physical modality, using photons from the visible and infrared spectrum (600nm-1000nm) for tissue healing and pain reduction”.

Cold Laser Therapy uses laser light energy to stimulate cells to function optimally. Cold laser therapy is similar to photosynthesis in plants; sunlight is absorbed by the plant and converted into energy the plant can utilize for growth. In the body, light sensitive chromophores and other elements within the cell absorb energy, initiating a series of important photochemical changes such as increased production of nitric oxide, singlet oxygen and ATP, as well as an increase in the cell membrane’s permeability. The mitochondria and Kreb’s Cycle stimulation initiates the production of ATP, providing the cell with the extra energy needed to accelerate the healing process and positively influence pain etc.  The additional energy and effects can result in the normalization of cell function when cell function is impaired. Since the following activities can occur in all types of cells (muscle, ligament, cartilage, nerves etc.) a number of wide-ranging conditions can be treated.
